2019 Youth Quake
February 22-24 we had 24 youth and 6 adults attend the annual Youth Quake in San Antonio. This event is for grades 6 through 12. The pictures below show various elements of the weekend:
FOOD is important in two ways – first we needed to get ourselves fed, and putting 30 people in a room for breakfast and evening snacks was a bit of a challenge. We also were able to serve by helping assemble over 4,000 meals (mixing together packets of rice, vitamins and other nutrients) that will be sent to those in some type of food crisis. Whatever pictures you see with hairnets are part of this activity.
MUSIC & BIBLE STUDY are also a strong part of the weekend. They offer great Christian speakers and very timely topics. We’re up early in the morning and late in the evening as we are energized by the musicians and speakers. Pictures that are a bit darker are from the ballroom, others from the breakout sessions.
A long time practice of ours at events like these is to form pyramids, some smaller, some with the whole group. This is a tradition that goes back many years, and youth who have attended these years ago have told us they like that we carry this on.
