Lutheran Women in Mission – Texas District
Bethel’s Lutheran Women in Mission is a local unit of the Bluebonnet Zone of the Texas District. The organization promotes systematic study of the Bible and constant Christian growth. They assist the pastor in contacting fellow Lutherans and live a life of Christian love, fellowship and wholesome recreation. The Lutheran Women in Mission assists in increasing active participation in the mission of the church, both at home and abroad. Lutheran Women in Mission meets on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 PM. Any woman who is a communicant member can join. Learn more about the national Lutheran Women in Mission organization here.
Bethel Lutheran Women in Mission invites all women in the congregation to join us Monday, November 2nd at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall for a Bible Study, snacks, and conversation as we reflect on the past year and prepare for a new year of serving the Lord. For our November service project, we are collecting non-perishable food or money for the Brazos Church Pantry.
The next mite collection (coins, cash, checks) is October 24 & 25 at all worship services.
Featured Mission Grant (National): 2025–2027 MISSION GRANT NO. 17
MOBILIZING AFTER SCHOOL CARE FOR TEENS
OUR PLACE AFTER SCHOOL CARE INC., HASTINGS, NE | $69,500
Handicapped Accessible Van for Teens with Special Needs
Our Place After School Care is a caring, Christian program for teenagers with special needs. This program was started in a church basement as there was a need for after-school care for teens between the ages of thirteen and twenty who have aged out of the area daycares. Programming designed to promote academic, social, and life skills is provided.
Our Place is open for these teenagers until their parents can get them after work. It provides a loving and safe environment, education and fellowship, but for the teenagers that are confined to wheelchairs, it is currently extremely difficult to get them from their school to Our Place.
This mission grant will provide funds for a vehicle equipped with a wheelchair lift to solve this transportation problem. This vehicle will be a huge aid in after-school transportation and would also enable possible educational and recreational opportunities within the community. The vehicle will enhance the quality of life for the teenagers and will be a huge asset to the staff. Our prayer is that God will bless the students and staff by the addition of this vehicle with the wheelchair lift.
Lord, we thank You for this day and we ask You to bless the students and the staff at Our Place in Hastings, Nebraska. May the vehicle with the wheelchair lift be an asset for this wonderful place and let it be used to Your glory both now and always. Thank You for all the things that You have created, for the innovations that You have supplied for us and mostly we thank You for sending Jesus to be our Savior. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
