We hope you can participate! \n  \nA personal invitation from Bethel member Justin Busse… I’d like to invite the men of Bethel to attend this retreat.  This retreat is hosted by Trinity Klein.  I first attended this retreat in 2012\, the first year Trinity hosted the retreat.  Prior to 2012 men from our congregation were going \nto San Antonio to attend with Concordia Lutheran Church.  From 2013 – 2015 I served on “Team”\, the group of men hosting the retreat for 1st time attendees.  The retreat is a great weekend to disconnect from the world and focus on your faith in many ways.  Since that first retreat 11 years ago\, the brothers from all years have been some of my closest friends\, supporters and confidants.  They are who I seek for wise council and small groups have been formed for mutual accountability.  It is awesome to see a great number of men serving in various capacities at Bethel.  It is my hope that a few (or many) men of Bethel will attend and strengthen the core foundation Bethel’s ministry ready to serve the Bethel family whenever\, wherever we are called to do so.  The brothers who attend understand or come to understand the importance of strong faithful men in our homes and congregation.  It is a great weekend and your wife and children will be grateful you attended for them.  My contact information is below if you have questions (call or text is best). \nYBIC\, Justin Busse \n

DESCRIPTION:Rainforest Explorers\nIt’s easy to get lost. That’s why we need Jesus! At Rainforest Explorers VBS\, learn how Jesus is our ultimate guide in the rainforest and in life. He leads us to the treasure of eternal life\, and He’ll never leave us! \nWe welcome families to come to dinner at 5:00pm.  Our VBS begins at 6:00pm and will be going until 8:45pm.  Our VBS Starts on Sunday June 19 – Thursday June 23rd. \nBethel’s VBS includes Preschool to Fifth Grade. Older students are encouraged to volunteer and assist where they are able to serve. \nBethel’s VBS seeks to develop community among all age groups.  Therefore\, once we have set our groups for children we will not change or move students to different group. If you have a friend that your student would like to share the VBS experience with you will have opportunity to enter that name at registration. SUMMARY:Masks Required Service
DESCRIPTION:This service is still being held but it is no longer mask free.  \nThe first Saturday of every month\, masks are required at the Traditional service. This is to allow those who do not feel comfortable attending regular Bethel services at this time to come participate in communion and attend church in-person. All worshippers will be asked to maintain their masks throughout this once-a-month service.  \n“The Board of Elders is continuing to monitor the presence of COVID-19 in our community on a weekly basis. Our current policy includes the wearing of masks by anyone who is uncomfortable not doing so and our first Saturday of the month is a mask-required service. We are not currently practicing social distancing. However\, we ask that everyone respects the concerns of those who do wear a mask by maintaining an appropriate social distance unless they indicate otherwise. Because of the low attendance numbers at our Saturday service\, it is easy for those attending to social distance if they feel the need to do so.”

DESCRIPTION:Worship with Communion will be held at noon and 6:45. \nAshes will be offered at the front of our sanctuary at 11:30 AM and at 6 PM before each service. “Imposition of Ashes” is simply the marking of the forehead with palm ashes. \nThe imposition of ashes on the forehead of the worshipper signifies that a period of prayer\, fasting\, and “sitting in sackcloth and ashes” has begun. \nWe especially encourage parents to bring your children as the marking of the ashes offers you a wonderful teachable moment. \nChildcare will be available during the 6:45 service and will be available upon request at the noon service.

DESCRIPTION:This week Bethel\, along with thousands of churches nationwide\, recognize “SOUP-ER BOWL OF CARING SUNDAY.” On a Sunday when Americans will celebrate football\, and eat and drink and enjoy great parties\, we ask for your pocket change to support our local foodbank. Started by a youth group in 1990\, we will take a door offering for the foodbank we are partnered with\, The Brazos Church Pantry. Every penny we collect this weekend will go to them for the purchase of food for our neighbors in BCS.

Come join us for a weekend of fun at Camp Lone Star! \nThe plan is to leave for Camp Lone Star on Friday\, November 12 at 6:00 pm.
